We find there the lifting, the trellising, the trimming but also the maintenance of the new plantations and the mowing of the vines because our domain is 80% grassed.
- The Training -
The trellising, which takes place in June (about 4 weeks this year), consists in separating the shoots from each other and keeping them in their order by wires and staples. It prevents the leaves from being pressed together, so that they catch as much sun as possible and benefit from good ventilation, preventing them from rotting.
This is a fundamental operation for the Champagne vine, is totally manual and very long.
